Miller/Grier Memorial Scholarship, Reimbursement Fund Application Deadline for Accepting Applications: February 15th Award Applied To: Tuition or books for police/fire science programs Eligibility Criteria: Minimum GPA 2.5 Enrollment status - full or part time High school/GED certification and/or college transcripts required Subject to background check Applicant must be enrolled in or prove intent to enroll in the next academic year of a two or four year accredited school offering police or fire science related courses Basic Requirements: Recipient must be an active member or recommended by an active member in good standing in CIFIA Letter of reference - from recipient's agency administrator Two (2) letters of character reference (excluding active member's recommendation) Original essay of not less than 150 words from recipient providing background information and career goals which specifically detail the educational plans in the field of fire investigation 100 word letter of recommendation from sponsoring member Disbursement of Funds: Tuition reimbursement subject to proof of successful completion of course Textbook reimbursement with receipt. Book becomes property of recipient.
